Why in the world did we create a Real Estate Theme for WordPress?

Great question. Let us share with you our answers.

• WordPress is easy to use and understand. It’s very intuitive for a user to create a post or edit a page, or manage their property listings.
• WordPress provides a search engine friendly platform, when configured optimally using a permalink structure such as %category%/%postname%. Also, when you include the All in One SEO plugin (check out our post on additional plugins for WP-Realtor), it is extremely powerful.
• WordPress is extremly flexible. This allows us to create plugins and designs as we see fit. If there is something we are missing, it can be built.

Finally the big day is here, after several months in development, customs plugins made and layout changes, The Bel Air WordPress Real Estate Theme is live. I need to thank Scott Bernadot for the great work that he did on designing this beauty.
This theme marks the beginning of a Join Venture between Plug & Press and Bernadot Studios on the new WP-Realtor.com home for this and future releases related to the Real Estate theme market.

The theme offers 5 different color styles with a very clean look and feel, we were looking for something easy to customize and also ready to use out of the box.

Three custom plugins were developed for this theme:

.- Real Estate Dream plugin, one of the big enhancements made to this theme is the NO CUSTOM FIELDS feature, all the property pictures are managed on the “Add Listing” tab very similar to the write post section in WordPress but with all the listing fields added like Home address, price, schools, 5 photos uploader, MLS links and info, Features, Square feet, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc.

.- Agent (author) photo uploader that will carry the picture through the whole site where the agent is showing. Easily from the admin section in WordPress you can upload and delete new agent photos.

.- Custom Category Search Plugin where you can select what categories will show up in the search bar dropdown menues for “Search by Type” - “Search by Price” - “Search by Location”. The 3 dropdown choices will appear through the whole site below the menu, allowing quick property searches wherever you are browsing the website.

Other features are:

Featured Property section on top of the page and below the menu will showcase the latest and “premium” properties in randomly order next to the Agent (author) photo and bio.

The theme has some elements of the Plug & Press popular Theme Options page like Stylesheet Switcher, Banner Ad Management (images and Adsense), Feedburner Newsletter and Category selector.

Custom Blog page that will allow Real Estate Agents to post news articles about their listings and the Real Estate Market in general.

The single property page includes a photo gallery gallery displaying all the listing thumbnails in a fashioned way with a Javascript overlay effect similar to the popular lightbox plugin.

Custom made Javascript calculator to do all your math on what kind of loan you will be able to afford.

I wanted to post a quick update on the release of The Bel Air WordPress Real Estate Theme.
After server crash-delete-rebuild and working late night hours, the theme will be finally released today, I’m still tweaking some things here and there and waiting for Scott to come back to me with the graphics for the additional theme colors.

The new home page for the theme looks amazing and Scott did a great job with the design (it is not live yet)

While you may be waiting for a late release of the Real Estate WordPress theme, I want to share some internal projects going on at Plug & Press.

The Bel Air WordPress Real Estate theme was delayed for a couple of days due to a last minute decision to include a custom Blog page template with dynamic functions that will be worth the wait, more functions were added to the theme options regarding categories and blog settings.
Scott did an amazing job combining the 5 different color options and we are already planning the second Real Estate theme.

Now that The Bel Air will be ready for release, I wanted to give a sneak peek of the new theme that I’m working on, Ibiza will be a chillout magazine theme with a very unique and fresh look, the whole layout will very special and I’ll be posting new preview screenshots in the coming days.
The Jukebox Music and Graffiti Tribal theme will be released in the coming days too.

New releases are coming to Plug and Press this week!

After several months in development the WordPress Real Estate Theme “The Bel Air” will go for sale this week, the theme uses all proprietary plugins, this is one of the issues that we were having before…we wanted to incorporate only our code in the theme, it will be easier to track updates and there will not be any licensing issues, the only piece of code that we’ve acquired for this theme was Shadowbox, a lightbox replacement for the photo gallery on single properties.

We are in the process of final testing and checking all the additional 4 new colors added to the original theme and it will be ready in the coming days.

Talking about new additional colors, the best travel theme for WordPress, our own Traveler will have 4 more additional colors to the already clean wireframe customizable style and the full featured graphic one. These new package will go for sale today at the same price, you will get 5 styles and a customizable wireframe for the same price. As always, previous owners of the theme will get this update for free.
